Louis Emery Obituary

Lou Emery, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 from his home in Parma, Idaho. Lou was born in Coon Rapids, Iowa on Sept. 9, 1927 to C. A. and Fern Emery. He spent the early part of his youth in Iowa and moved to Boise as a teen and graduated from Boise High in 1946. After high school Lou served in the U.S. Army in Korea, and then returned to Iowa to the family farm working with his father. He met and married Marcella Flinn of Adel, Iowa and the couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this past May. Lou and family moved to Parma in 1962 where he worked in the insurance and real estate business until retirement in 1991. Lou loved his family, his community, his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved watching the activities his children and grandchildren were involved in and rarely missed an event. All who knew him will forever remember his quick wit and many pranks. Lou was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. Emery, Fern Emery Taylor, his brother Emmert Emery and sister Dolores Emery; sons Michael Emery and Craig Emery. Lou is survived by his wife, Marcella, his children Gerry Sarich, Marcy Paul and husband Dave, Kevin Emery and wife Jill, and his adopted daughter Lucy Kobusingye and her son Will; his grandchildren Joshua Paul and wife Rachel, Cecelia Oxford and husband Dan, Craig Emery, Jacob Emery and wife Christa, Vali Emery, Angie Sarich, Nick Sarich and wife Lori, Matthew Sarich and fiance Kelly Hurd; his great-granddaughters Quinae Leigh and Hallie Soon; his sisters Arlene Worthington and Phyllis Scheib and numerous other extended family. Memorial services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, 28531 Hwy 18, Roswell, located two miles southwest of Parma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sterry Memorial Church, Building Fund, PO Box 655, Parma, ID 83660 or Support Our Students, P. O. Box 60 Parma, ID or a favorite charity.

Our loss of Lou is certainly gain for him as he joins that "great cloud of witnesses" with perfect health. Lou was such a super example as he loved those around him and lived life fully till the end. We love you Marcy and are so sorry for your loss.
