Marjorie Greenwald Obituary

Marjorie Claire Greenwald Marjorie Claire Greenwald went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008. She was born on Feb. 25, 1923 to Hazel and Harley Crook in Caldwell, Idaho. She had two brothers, one older and the other younger. Her childhood years were spent on the family farm in Notus, Idaho. She attended the Notus High School until she graduated. Marjorie attended Multnomah School of the Bible, in Portland, Oregon, from 1945 to 1947. She was a missionary with the Mexican Gospel Mission in Phoenix, Arizona from January to August 1950. In Phoenix, she suffered heat stroke and returned to live with her family in Idaho. The family moved from Notus to Deer Flat (near Caldwell, Idaho) in 1951 and continued farming there. On May 1, 1952, she was married to Harold Greenwald at the Notus Baptist Church. They have been married 56 years. Marjorie and Harold had two sons, Wendell and Dale. Marjorie was a loving wife and mother and was the homemaker for the family. In 1965, Harold and Marjorie moved to Marjorie's family farm in Deer Flat. They lived there for the next 41 years. Marjorie loved the peace and quiet beauty of the Idaho countryside and mountains. She knew the names of many of Idaho's wild flowers and birds. Harold and Marjorie spent much of their retired years enjoying Idaho's mountains. In 2006, Harold and Marjorie moved to Richland, Wash. to be near family who could care for them. Harold had been paralyzed by a stroke and Marjorie was developing symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Marjorie is survived by her husband Harold and her son Dale of Tukwila, Wash., her son Wendell of Pasco, Wash., and daughter in-law Dianne of Pasco. Although she is gone from us for a time, and we will miss her, we all look forward to a happy reunion with her someday.
