Boise, Idaho - Mark LeRon "Ron" Hixson passed away peacefully on August 21 in Boise, Idaho, at St. Alphonsus, surrounded by his daughter, granddaughter, and life partner.

Born October 10, 1946, in Mesa, Arizona, Ron was the oldest of five children of Bill and Iola Hixson. He grew up with a love of the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life, happiest when fishing, hunting, or camping with those he loved.

A gifted designer and builder, Ron created hundreds of homes across the Treasure Valley, as well as pioneering energy-efficient construction through his companies Mark L. Hixson Design/Build, and EarthCraft. His creativity and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on Boise's landscape.

But Ron's greatest work was the way he touched people's lives. After turning his life around 36 years ago, he devoted himself to helping others through AA and Spectrum workshops, mentoring with compassion and humility. His presence and kindness rippled outward, making the world better both personally and professionally.

Ron is survived by his children Jessica and Jake Hixson; son-in-law and daughter-in-law Doug Dana and Jessie Chaney; grandchildren Dylan Hixson, Sienna and Jayden Kaske, and Brannon Dana; siblings Dee Dee Hixson, Shelley Rickert, Terry (June) Hixson, and Jeff Hixson; nieces, nephews, cousins; and his partner of 13 years, Barb Nelson, and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and niece Bethany.

Celebration of Life: September 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the East Park Picnic Pavilion, 11371 W Chinden Blvd (on the southeast side of the Hewlett Packard campus.)
