Mark Wilkerson Obituary

Mark Efton Wilkerson

November 29, 1971 - October 18, 2024

Boise, Idaho - Boise, ID- Mark Efton Wilkerson, beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle, passed away on October 18, 2024, at age 52, due to medical causes.

Mark was born in Long Beach, California, to Jack W. Wilkerson and Rayven D. (Maillette) Wilkerson. Mark moved to Idaho at the age of six, along with his parents and two younger sisters. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1989 and later received his a.a.s. in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Lane Community College in Eugene, OR.

Mark was an awarded chef in the Treasure Valley. He worked at many venues in Idaho and loved to cook for his family and friends. Mark held numerous jobs in the culinary industry all around Idaho where he could stay close to his family. Mark loved to draw and was able to share his love of drawing and art with his nieces. He was also an avid musician, learning multiple instruments including guitar and mandolin, but ultimately fell in love with the banjo. Mark would perform often at family gatherings as his nieces would dance and perform to his music.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wilkerson in 2022. He is survived by his mother, Rayven (Maillette) Wilkerson, his sisters, Courtney (Wilkerson) Hessick and Jaclyn (Wilkerson) Nafsinger, his nieces, Alexa, Natalie, Kylie, and Gabby, his nephew, Jake, and one great-nephew, Jackson.

A private celebration of life will be held later at a later date to honor Mark and all the wonderful memories he left behind.
