MaryLou Moore Obituary

Mary Lou Moore
September 25, 1927 - July 17, 2022
Boise, Idaho - Mary Lou Dickinson Moore, beloved wife, caring and supportive mother of 6 children and 10 grandchildren earned her angel wings on July 17, 2022.
She was born in Watertown, South Dakota, on September 25,1927 to John and Irene Dickinson. She grew up in Red Oak, Iowa and Fairmont, Minnesota where she met husband Pat. She and Pat were married on September 28, 1947.
Her varied career included running a family clothing store, being a church secretary, being a church organist, running a Hobie Cat boat business, teaching piano lessons, and teaching preschoolers.
She attended college at Mcallister College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended Harford Community College and Loyola University Maryland while raising a family of 6. She received her bachelor's degree from Coppin State University in education. She began her teaching career at 53 years of age and taught at Jefferson Junior High School in Caldwell, Idaho which was her dream job.
Mary Lou was quick-witted and loved word plays and puns. She always wrote personalized poems with darling cartoon drawings in cards for family and friends. She loved gardening, reading, playing the piano, and listening to music. Above all, she loved her family and did everything she could to make sure we were cared for. She was thrifty with herself but generous with others.
She is survived by her son Jon (Sandi) Moore, daughters Linda (Bob) Peterson, Lisa (Steve) Frederick, Colleen (Jim) Phillips, Carol Moore, and Shauna (Terry) Richmond. She is survived by grandchildren Shane (Karen) Moore, Chris (Rebecca) Peterson, Evan Peterson, Stephanie (David) Summers, Kelsey (Ridge) Baldner, Jamie Frederick, Katie Richmond, Carly Richmond, Molly Phillips, and great-grandson Max Moore. She is preceded in death by her husband Pat, later her companion Armon, her brother John, her grandson Tyler, and many other beloved family members.
We would like to give a special thanks to the care staff at Willow Park/Truewood Memory Care and especially to Morningstar Memory Care at Englefield Green.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Lou's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
A Celebration of Life will be held in September at Cloverdale Funeral Home with details to be announced at a later date

Hello!
I had the pleasure of knowing MaryLou Moore, mostly through business association and did some repairs for her and while it was only a professional acquaintance, I came to know MaryLou as a special lady and deserves proper recognition for the special lady she was. I miss you MaryLou Moore.

Your Mom, Mother in law, gramma, helped take care of my Mom through St. Al's hospice. Mary Lou was one of my very favorite ladies that visited her. She was so delightful, and my mom, Gert, loved her! My mom has been gone now for 8 1/2 years. Mary Lou was with her in the last months of her life. She came to my moms memorial, and I recall she stood up and read a poem at my moms service. I did visit your mom in the assisted living home on Milwaukee street. I wasn't sure she remembered me, but I certainly loved seeing her once again. She loved her family deeply, and talked about her kids and grandkids often. My condolences to all of you. She will be forever in my heart.:)

Mom was one of a kind. In a good way. She made us laugh and had a punny, funny way with words. She loved to make instant friends, and taught me to do the same. She would do anything for her beloved family, and loved unconditionally. The blessing of great memories is priceless....just like her. Miss you, Mom. Your daughter for 72 years. My mom was one of the greatest people I have ever had the privilege to know. She was selfless, generous, and kind and I will love and miss her for the rest of my life. See you in heaven, mom. I love you!
