Maxine Rupe Obituary

Maxine Rupe
February 10, 2022
Boise, Idaho - Our mom, Maxine Rupe was born December 18, 1932 in Woodstock, Illinois. She passed away at the age of 89 on February 10, 2022 in Boise after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Mom spent her younger years on her grandmother's farm in Meridian, and had pleasant memories of those days. She later frequently moved around the country with her family following job opportunities. It was difficult having to always be the "new kid" in school, but she persevered graduating from Boise High after only enrolling for the last three weeks of the school year.
Mom made the best decision of her life when she married Don Rupe on October 1, 1950. They were a devoted couple for their 70 years of marriage. It wasn't always easy, but Mom was the steady bedrock of our family. She was patient, a gifted listener, and always put the rest of us before herself. There was never a doubt that she loved each and every member of her family unconditionally.
Mom nurtured a secure and stable home. Both she and Dad did not want to subject their kids to moving around like they did. They fulfilled this goal, and lived in our family home for 62 years.
In her later years, Mom enjoyed walking at the mall with her sisters-in-law. She faithfully did this 5 days a week for 30 years, and made many friends there. It was a memorable time for socializing along with the exercise. Mom also had a passion for sewing and crocheting special items to share with family and friends and sell at local bazaars.
Mom is survived by her 5 children: Karen Lucchesi (Bob), David Rupe (Cindy), Larry Rupe (Colleen), Debra Kettles (Dave), and Kenneth Rupe as well as many grandkids and great grandkids. She also leaves 2 sisters, Marilyn Irvan and Carol Harrison; and a brother, Kenneth Carney. Mom is preceded in death by our dad, Don Rupe, her parents, a brother, and an infant grandson.
Services will be held on March 1st at 11:00 at the Meridian Friends Church, 1021 W. Pine in Meridian. You are invited to a catered lunch afterwards. The services will be streamed virtually at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/9463855936. Burial service will take place at 2:00 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with Dad. Flowers may be sent to Accent Funeral Home, 1303 N. Main St., Meridian, ID 83642. Remembrances may be left for the family on Maxine's webpage at www.AccentFuneral.com.
