I had Michael as a teacher in first grade. He was always so wonderfully happy, and a sense of humor that was beyond his years. Thank you for sharing a portion of your life Michael with me.

My deepest sympathy and prayers are sent to the family and friends of Mike Bettis. This was a man that was true to heart and always true to his friends and family. He was a dear friend to me for many years and I am so grateful to have been blessed with his friendship and smile. May he rest in peace and God Bless you All!

Wow I'm truly shocked that a wonderful person like Mike is gone. The Lord must have a special job that young man to do. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bettis family. Remember the words until we meet again because they do bring comfort in such a tragic time.

Dear sweet Michael so many times I have retold the stories of you in my first, first grade classroom. That there was a day when the classroom was wild. Joyous first graders embracing their day as they should. The room echoed. Michael could sense my tension about how to harness this energy. Quietly he came to me and said, "You know what Mrs. Scott, it sounds just like a Chinese laundry in here, doesn't it?" I melted. I melt again for the Bettis family and for those who will not have the opportunity to have this man in their life. Marcia Scott, Centennial School-1st grade teacher of Michael.
