Michael Gallegos Obituary

Michael Joseph Gallegos

August 9, 1950 - July 10, 2024

Boise, Idaho - We sadly announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother & friend, Michael Joseph Gallegos of Boise, Idaho on July 10, 2024 of natural causes.

He is survived by his wife, Iris his children), April Barnes (Tim), Eric Toney (Brandy) Tammy Paul (Dennis), Elizabeth Gallegos, seven grandchildren, Keans, Evan, Logan, Dylan, Peyton, Carson, Sydney and two great grandchildren, Izabelle and Kennedy all of whom he adored.

He is also survived by sisters Sandi Borup (Al), Barb Anaya, Beverly Greene, Pat Jojola and two brothers, Orlando Gallegos (Delores) and Richard Gallegos (Cookie).

Michael was born August 9, 1950 to Theresa Gallegos Greene and was raised in Greeley, CO. by his loving grandparents in a large family.

Mike graduated from Boise State University and worked many years for the State of Idaho as a master's level rehabilitation counselor with Idaho Rehabilitation Svcs. and Idaho Department of Corrections.

In 1980, Mike and Iris were married and were in their 45th year of life together. Early in their marriage they met their Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ who accepted these two prodigals and turned their lives around. He was particularly blessed working on Walk To Emmaus retreats for many years, making life-long, heart to heart friendships. He and Iris traveled on mission trips to Peru, Mexico, Finland and Russia with Mike often discipling, interpreting, and ministering healing to marriages.

He and Iris were led to develop Living In the Light Ministries and along with many faithful servants built a retreat center in the mountains north of Boise where they hosted, counseled, taught and ministered at retreats for nearly 20 years.

Mike loved people, loved to laugh, loved to collect car paraphernalia & was always ready to go to a car show. He also loved traveling in his RV.

Mike spent time with his Lord & in His word daily for decades and towards the end of his life kept 2 Corinthians 12:9 close to his heart: "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

Mike's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11 a.m. at Eagle Hills church, 651 North Eagle Rd. Eagle, ID. Private interment at a later date.
