Michael Trunnell Obituary

Michael Loyd Trunnell, 56, passed away August 26, 2010, at home after a valiant battle with brain cancer. Mike was born on March 11, 1954 and grew up on a farm in Parma, Idaho. In 1972 he joined the army as a medic, after which he became a professional student getting a BS degree at BSU, then a MS in Counseling at the C of I. His career led him to many facilities working in mental health, counseling and as an RN. With his dry sense of humor, he left a mark in the lives he touched. Mike married the love of his life, Marcia Kochsmeier, on Oct. 6, 1990. They lived in Caldwell for 16 years, where he spent his free time fixing up the house and the grounds. He liked to tinker with things and see how he could change his surroundings. After being diagnosed with brain cancer, he and Marcia moved to Nampa to be closer to family. He always wanted to make sure Marcia would be taken care of. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia: children, Jason (Shannon)Trujillo, Amber (Scott)Sweaney, Nickie(Tony) Trunnell, Katie (Dennis) Staples: grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Abby, Carson, Colin, and Ethan: sisters, JoAnn (Tom)Pfost, Joy Thomas, Judy (Dan) Robertson, Nancy Butz: and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Beverly and Herschel Trunnell and his brother-in-law Carl Butz. A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 4th, at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise. A gathering will follow at Judy Robertson's, 3519 Muffin Lane, Caldwell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Legacy Hospice, 680 S. Progress Ave. Meridian, or to the Cancer Research Society. The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice for all their love and support. Mike will be missed by all who knew and loved him, for he had a kind, loving nature, strong spirit, and a witty sense of humor.
