Nathan Busacker Obituary

Nathan James Busacker
1999 - 2015
Nathan James Busacker, 15, of Boise, Idaho was called home on October 25, 2015. He was born on December 27, 1999 in Boise, Idaho and left behind a legacy of passion, kindness, and joy.
Nathan was a young man who was passionate about life. Whatever he believed, he felt with his whole heart. He felt strongly about accepting others and reaching out to many who were struggling and needed a friend. Because he was impassioned about so many things, lively discussions about politics, religion, and Apple vs. Android were common at the dinner table.
Nathan brought to our family the gift of kindness. He was patient with his brothers, supportive of his friends, and helpful to his parents. He loved to teach people and help them in any way he could. He was one of the most compassionate people we've ever met.
Nathan found joy in learning. Nearly every evening Nathan could be found watching videos on his phone about his latest interest or writing some new equation on his window with a dry erase marker. He recently learned how to build his own computer case out of wood and make balloon animals and flowers. There wasn't anything he couldn't learn to do. His friends describe him as the smartest person they knew.
Nathan brought joy and laughter to our family. He enjoyed riding his rip stick, skiing (double black diamonds), running, weight lifting, teaching others, and working with computers. He loved his brothers and played with them often. Most of all, Nathan loved making burgers on the smoker and eating french fries …everyday!
Nathan's name means "Gift from God." For 15 years, Nathan has been a gift to us all. He will be missed every day by family and friends who will always remember his passion, kindness, and joy. We cannot wait to see him again. We love you, Nathan!
He is survived by his parents, Brandon and Claire Busacker; his siblings, Chase, Tanner, Cole, and Brennan; his grandparents, Bill and Brenda Busacker; maternal grandfather, Monte Scaggs; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Beyond the veil of his life, his Grandma Shirley and cousin Kelli have welcomed him home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the LDS chapel located next to Rocky Mountain High School at 1450 W. Cayuse Creek Drive, Meridian. A viewing will be held between 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service at Dry Creek Cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. I will always remember Nathan mowing my lawn with his headphones on, sometimes hitting his head on my birdfeeders and trying not to spill the seed.
Love you all

I cannot begin to express the loss of this old soul. I had the pleasure of teaching Nate for three years, both at Pathways and then at Rocky. At Rocky, my room became a hub for all of my former middle school kiddos, to let loose and feel safe with old friends. Lunch time became my favorite part of the day.

Nate was a lunchtime regular, and he often used this time to "teach and inform" the other students on various subjects he was passionate about. For as bright as Nate was, he valued the opportunity to share what he knew in a way that empowered his peers. He never tried to one-up anyone. Rather, he valued the opportunity to teach. He had a talent for taking more complex topics and breaking them down for others to understand.

He was kind, passionate, wise, and generous, just to name a few. He was rarely, if ever, absent, and always walked into my room with a smile on his face...and his smile was magnetic and welcoming.

I will forever remember Nate walking in with his brown jacket and a smile on his face. As a teacher, losing a student is beyond painful, and never fair. In place of anger for why this soul was with us for just a short time, instead, I try to find the lesson I can take with me from the time I did have knowing Nate. My lesson from Nate is to always find the joy in learning and then in sharing that knowledge. I learned the importance of having a strong sense of self, and the foolishness for succumbing to peer pressure. I learned the power of passion and a smile.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. My prayers are headed their way. We love ya kiddo, and heaven has yet another angel to watch over us. Xoxo.
