Neva Page Obituary

Neva Jo (Jodi) Page
September 3, 1933 - March 10, 2023
Emmett, Idaho - Neva Jo Heard (Jodi) was born on September 3, 1933, in Pine Park, Missouri. She was the second of nine children, six of whom are still living. At the age of three, her family moved to Brushy Knob, Missouri, and this is where she met and grew up with our dad. As children, they played together in the hollers of Missouri and as teenagers (17 & 19), they fell madly in love and married in 1951. Over the next five years, there were four children born. Mom & Dad moved around a lot in those early years but our mother was adamant that once the kids started school, we would stay put.
In 1959 they moved to Meridian, Idaho, and mom began working as a meat wrapper in 1960, working at many grocery stores in the valley over the next 13 years. In 1973, our mom and dad decided to move to Kalispell, Montana, where they lived for 15 years but as much as our dad loved Montana, our mom longed for Idaho. So, in 1990, when our dad had an opportunity to start his own business, they did so in Emmett, Idaho. It was there they purchased a home on some property she called her 'little piece of heaven'. Jodi absolutely loved that home and so did everyone that loved her. The anniversaries, weddings and birthday parties that were celebrated there are too many to count and the Sunday dinners (and I mean every Sunday) prepared by her, there are no words for. The meals she prepared for those who were sick were famous and countless and we often wondered if they were really sick at all or just wanted a meal from Jodi!
While we've told you a few things about our mother, now we will tell you what made her the extraordinary woman she was. Our dad was the love of her life and Jesus was the lover of her soul. Everything in her life centered around Him. Every morning she spoke the names of all she loved before the throne of God. She never wavered from her faith....ever. She never questioned God on any level on the hardships of her life, and there were many. Watching her through these times made you want what she had and she conveyed that every Sunday morning to the little ones in her Sunday school class.
Our mother went through so much in such a short amount of time. A heart attack in October, the death of our father in November, and a broken hip in March, which ultimately led to her stroke. All of us kids never left her side and as we wept, our mother who could not speak, would squeeze our hands to comfort us. We cannot stress enough how much she was loved by her kids, grandkids, great and great great grandkids. They filled her house every day as God was preparing her forever home. For your prayers, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.. It was your prayers that sustained us and allowed us to pour all of our love and comfort into her on her final walk home. God is the creator of all things good and beautiful, and His masterpiece, Neva Jo Page was completed at 7:25am, March 10, 2023, and what a magnificent sight she was. Our mother would ask you one question, do you know Jesus? If you don't, find Him. He will fill your life with love and purpose as He did hers. If you know Him and are burdened by this world we live in, cry out to Him and He will hear you, strengthen you, and refresh your soul.
Jodi is survived by her four children: Donna (Wade) Gibbons, Jerry (Ann) Page, Debbie (Tom) Todd, and Brenda (Steve) Slagel, 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Don.

Prayers for Neva Jo's family. What a wonderful story of your mom's life. I visited with Don and Neva Jo about 4 years ago. Her words I will never forget 'come see us, but not on Sunday morning or Wednesday night unless you want to go to church with us.' She was a special lady to my mom, her Aunt Lizetta.

So sorry to hear of Neva´s passing. I have thought of her so often. Neva & I worked together at the Okay Food Center in Boise in the meat shop.
We carpooled, had many lunches & a lot of laughs.. One memory, I will never forget, the day JFK was assinated ,we w ent to McDonlds on Orchard, it was pouring rain, we sat in her car with the heater & radio on, listening to every word coming out of Dallas. So much fun working with her. My daughter LuAnn & I
also used to go to church with her. My prayers go out to all you kids. Sad times for you....Betty Darland Harris

My deepest sympathies for the entire family. I only met Mrs Page a couple times and thought she was a lovely person and I know how dear she was to Barbara, Jantzen and the boys.
May God comfort all the family.
