Patricia Larsen Obituary

Patricia Rae Larsen, 71, Melba, Idaho, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 with her husband at her side. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at Vision Bible Church in Marsing, Idaho. The service will be officiated by her Pastor, Benje Graves. Pat was born May 30, 1934 in Nampa, Idaho to Harvey and Margaret (Tess) Robbins. She had two older brothers, Charles and Billy. Pat graduated from Nampa High School in 1952 and attended x-ray school that same year. She worked for St. Luke´s Hospital in Boise, Dr. Cudmore, several physicians, and Saint Alphonsus in Boise prior to her retirement. Pat married David B. Jenkins in 1954, and in 1955 their son David R. "Rick" Jenkins was born. Pat remarried in 1972 to John M. Larsen. This union introduced Pat to Johns four beautiful children from his previous marriage, Mary, Laura, Don, and Kay. They were married for 34 years. Pat came from pioneer stock. Her ancestors were Idaho pioneers who settled in the Ketchum area. This contributed to her natural and unquenchable curiosity and love for Idaho history and the outdoors which she passed onto her son Rick. Pat and John were incredible entrepreneurs and lived their lives creating, building and exploring everything and anything possible to their imagination including building their cabin in Cascade and airplanes. Nothing seemed impossible for Pat. Her encouragement to others even through her severe affliction of rheumatoid arthritis was such an inspiration. Pat had the knack for creating memories with her family. She was a talented stained glass artist, writer and gardener. So much can be said about Pat, and shell be remembered for much but the most precious legacy and gift she leaves us is her incredible faith and love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and friends. Pat is survived by her husband, John Larsen, her son Rick Jenkins and his wife Evy, her step-children and their spouses, Mary and Paul Lucca, Laura and Mike Stevenson, Don Larsen, Kay and Will Cook, a brother Charles Robbins and his wife Margie, 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Billy. In lieu of flowers, may we suggest a memorial donation to the Pat Larsen Youth Fund c/o of Vision Bible Church, 4920 Lifeline Dr., Marsing, Idaho 83639. Thank you to everyone who reached out to our family and a special thank you to Pat´s caregivers from Horizon Hospice.

I remember Pat's sweet spirit when visiting with her. It reminds me of the scripture, that David prayed, "create within me a right spirit."
