Paul Charles Summa, 81, of Wilder Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 5, 2013 from complications due to pneumonia.
Paul was born in Alanthus, Missouri on April 17th, 1931. His family moved from Missouri to Hollister, California when he was a child.
After serving in the army during the Korean War he met and married Shirley Force of Gentry, Missouri on April 17th 1955 in Hollister, California. They would have been married 58 years this April.
Paul and Shirley moved to Wilder, Idaho in 1970 and Paul retired working for the State Hospital and School in Nampa, Idaho in 1994. Much of his retirement was spent recreating at their mountain cabin in Featherville, Idaho.
Paul is survived by wife Shirley Summa of Wilder, Son Glenn and Liz Summa (Lunstrum), Grandchildren April and Jeremy Lanningham and great granddaughters Maya and Harper Lanningham of Boise, sisters Rebecca and husband Searcy Hunt and Inez Williams of Caldwell, Brother David Summa of Nampa and many other nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death by parents Darrel and Rayo Summa and son Gene Summa.
The funeral will be held on Monday, March 11th at 11:00 am at Centennial Baptist Church, 3610 E. Ustick Road, Caldwell under the direction of Pastor Tony VanMamen and friend Pat Lewellyn. Graveside at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell immediately following. Services are under the care of Zeyer Funeral Chapel in Nampa Idaho.
The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell and Encompass Home Health and Hospice in Nampa for their incredible care and comfort given to Paul during his last days.
Paul was a dedicated BSU fan and would want to be remembered with these last words: "Go Boise State!"
