Rachel Haneke Obituary

In Loving Memory of Rachel Lynn (Clason) Haneke.

Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Rachel Lynn Haneke, daughter of Mike and Nancie Clason, wife to Kent Haneke, and devoted mother to Zoey Haneke, passed away surrounded by love. Rachel lived a life filled with adventure, passion, and unshakable optimism.

Rachel was born in Mountain View, CA in 1987. She exceeded expectations from the day she came into the world. As a preemie, born almost three months early, when the doctors said she would not make it, she thrived. She fought for life and overcame every obstacle thrown at her from day one. She lived her entire life this way.

Raised in Ontario, OR, Rachel grew up with her loving parents and siblings, embracing life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. As a child, she loved to dance, ice skate and order her siblings around. She was the baby of the family, but she ran the house. She was a high school cheerleader and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Albertsons College, always seeking new experiences and personal growth.

In 2007, Rachel met the love of her life, Kent. Their connection was instant and deep. They married in 2010 and joyfully welcomed their daughter Zoey in 2012. Motherhood was her greatest adventure, her proudest achievement, and her constant source of delight. She poured her heart and soul into raising Zoey. Together, the Haneke's made memories that spanned oceans - traveling, exploring, and living each day to its fullest. From scuba diving in Costa Rica to wandering the markets of Thailand, Rachel's zest for life and curiosity for the world never faded.

In 2017, Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer. True to her nature, she met the challenge with strength, fire, and resilience that inspired everyone around her. She celebrated remission in 2019, but as time went on, the cancer returned. She faced unimaginable challenges, yet she refused to let the diagnosis define her or limit her joy. She, Kent, and Zoey lived each moment with purpose - seizing time, cherishing experiences, and savoring life's beauty. She chose joy, she chose happiness, and she shared that light with everyone she met.

Though her physical journey has come to an end, Rachel's spirit lives on in the laughter of her daughter, the strength of her husband, the memories shared by her parents and siblings, and in every life she touched with her warmth, courage, and love.

Rachel didn't want to be mourned. She wanted to be remembered as the woman who lived bravely, joyfully, and with fierce love. She may have lost the war against cancer, but she won at life. Her legacy is one of inspiration and light that will continue to shine.

She will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.

I am honored to call Rachel my friend and grateful for the years we worked together. She was so strong, determined and one of the sweetest souls I ever met. I will always remember celebrating with lots of champagne when she went into remission. Thank you Rachel, for teaching me how to be strong. I will love and miss you forever.

Dearest Kent and Zoey!!
What a privilege it was for me, to have known, cared for, and Loved your Rachel! I´m so glad I got to be one of her many nurses. She was a true warrior - Fun, kind, sweet, caring, adventurous, positive, brave, beautiful, determined, loving, are just a few of her attributes that come to mind.
The world was much brighter with her in it...I´m so sorry she had to leave so soon!! I know she lived for you both! Her love was surely evident, in both directions
Kent you were an amazing husband, so right there beside her, every step of her journey through cancer! I know that wasn´t easy, but you made it look that way! A beautiful couple all the way
I pray that the memories of happy, healthy, days, will see you through these days of sadness and loss!
My prayers are with you and all the family, and please know, I will never forget the treasure and gift that Rachel was to me.
May you know the strength and Love of Jesus, that will carry you through these days of grief
