Realy Wingert Obituary

Realy Ann Wingert

August 7, 1970 - March 7, 2024

Boise, Idaho - Realy Ann was born August 7, 1970, at Richards-Gebaur AFB, Missouri, to Nicholas Frederick Brown and Susan Carol (Harter) Brown. Moving with her military family, she lived briefly in Florida, Mississippi, Colorado, and Idaho, eventually settling in Iowa. She participated in band, orchestra, and marching band, playing bassoon in the Iowa All-State Band and Orchestra. Graduation was from Jefferson High School in 1988 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Her college career began at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho where she met Nathan Charles Wingert and was married August 7, 1992. After Nathan finished school they moved to Boise, Idaho, bought a home, and began a family.

Their son, Charles Frederick Wingert, was born February 1, 2003. Charlie was the love of her life and her focus was on introducing him to the adventures available in the world. Growing up with a dad who enjoyed puttering with old sports cars, Realy Ann found herself the owner of a vintage Morris Mini and that began her involvement with everything Mini: car clubs, rallys, drives, and Mini owners around the world. She was happiest driving her car with her two guys. She also completed her RN degree, worked for the local independent bookstore, took up sewing, quilting, and fabric collection, played bassoon with the Meridian Symphony, and landscaped her backyard to provide sanctuary for birds and squirrels. Her home was taken over by innumerable felines. She touched the lives of hundreds of friends.

Realy Ann passed away March 7, 2024, after a short, fierce battle with liver disease. She is survived by her husband Nathan; son Charlie; and parents Nicholas and Susan Brown. Ashes will be interred at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise.

Nick and Susan, so sorry to hear about Realy Ann. I still remember Nick trying to explain her name to me and riding in his Cooper to lunch. In reading the obit she was able to accomplish many amazing things in such a short time. This of course is a reflection of her parents. The loss of a child is heart breaking, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to Realy's family. Realy and I meet when we were 12, in 7th grade and became best friends instantly. I spent a lot of time at her house and her at mine. Then later in life I worked at the nuclear plant where her parents worked. I'm so broken hearted with the flood of fond memories. May she rest in peace by knowing how much we all loved her.

I didn't know Realy well during high school, but we'd reconnected many years ago over Facebook. To say she was a light in this world is an understatement.

No one has a sweeter and kinder personality than Realy Ann. I always had a good experience when speaking with her, especially as she indulged my questions as a former bassoon player. My thoughts are with Nathan and Charlie. Realy Ann will always be remembered fondly by me.
