Sandy,
Oh my. This is Joyce Scott from Salmon when you knew me. I live in McCall and have asked about you for a couple years. Was told you had moved.
Then today I see an article about Rick.
I have called a friend to find out where you are. I am sooooo sorry.
Rick, you and the girls have remained in my heart and my mind for so many years. I hope you receive this.
Love to the girls and especially to you.

Rick and I shared so many memories together when growing up, hunting, camping, and just hanging around, he was a such a great friend. My wife and I were honored by having Rick as our best man in our wedding, he will always be in our heart. Sandy, Kim, Amenda, and Jamie I'm sorry we never had the opportunity to meet but I would like to say that Rick has touched many lives and the memories of what he has done will be remembered forever. We only met a few times, but each time it was a joy to be with Rick. He was obviously the kind of person who would be treasured by his friends and family for his happy, fun-loving personality. I wish I could have known him better. Our thoughts are with his family. Hopefully, their warm memories of this fine man will give them some peace as they deal with this painful loss. Our prayers are with them and with Rick.

Sandy, Kim, Amanda and Jamie:
Our hearts go out to you for your loss of such a wonderful husband and father and a man we are proud to have known and called our friend. We have thought about you so often since we left Idaho and wondered how Rick was doing. I just happened to be reading the ID paper tonight and found his obituary - we are so sorry!! He was so brave and kept his spirit up. He was so helpful when Larry suffered with his cancer, I wish I had been there to help you when you may have needed help. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always!!!

I got to know Rick when he was mgr of Lake Cascade State Park, and I worked for Tamarack Resort. We worked together on a lot of projects, and he was a great park manager.
My heart goes out to his family and his co-workers.
Rick was the epitomy of what a park ranger should aspire to be. It's a tragic loss.
