Rita Camporeale Obituary

Rita "Jane" Camporeale
October 10, 1938 - July 17, 2022
Eagle, Idaho - Rita "Jane" Camporeale passed away on July 17th, 2022, at the age of 83, peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Jane was born in 1938 in Morrilton, Arkansas. Her family moved to California when she was young. She attended the University of California Berkeley and graduated with a degree in political science where she then worked as an administrator for the astronomy department. In 1961 she welcomed her daughter Lisa who she raised during the tumultuous times of Berkeley in the 60's. In 1975 she married the love of her life Saverio "Sam" Camporeale, and they relocated to Oklahoma where Jane immersed herself in fundraising for the American Diabetes Association, eventually ascending to Chair of fundraising for the ADA nationally, a remarkable achievement that meant the world to her. Jane dedicated her life to many other causes that were dear to her, including advocacy for literacy, women's rights, and the homeless. In 2001, Sam and Jane relocated to Boise, Idaho to enjoy retired life and be close to family. She spent many years volunteering at St. Michael's Cathedral and was involved in many facets of the Episcopal Church. Jane and Sam were deeply involved with the Masonic Temple where Jane served as secretary for the Daughters of the Nile, and where they made some of their most beloved and valued friends.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Adrian Truman Crownover and Ovie Hazel Pettit, and her stepson Charlie Camporeale.
Jane is survived by her husband of 47 years Sam Camporeale; her siblings Jack Crownover (Valdean), Billie Vrtiak (John), and Francis Edwards (Howard; passed); her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Charles Martin; her step-children Mike Camporeale (Barbara), Ken Camporeale (Diane), and Jane Foster (Dwight), her grandchildren Allie and Andrew Martin; her step-grandchildren Michael Camporeale, Joe Camporeale, Daniel Camporeale, Kevin Camporeale, Nick Foster, Tommy Foster, Joe Foster, Jimmy Foster , and many nieces and nephews along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
The family expresses our deepest gratitude to the caregivers who selflessly gave their time and with loving compassion comforted Jane throughout her journey.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Michael's Episcopal Cathedral, 518 N. 8th St. Boise.
