Robert Duncan Obituary

Robert J. Duncan was taken into our Lord´s hands on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006. Bob was born on July 31, 1929 in Payette, Idaho. Bob grew up in Cambridge, Idaho and graduated from Cambridge High School where he was a star in football, track, and basketball...at least that's what he often told his sons. During high school he was nicknamed ÒSpeed´ and won the County 100 yard dash. Bob and his brother Gene spent much of their free time fishing and hunting the many lakes and streams from Cambridge to McCall. After serving a term in the U.S. Army, Bob graduated from the University of Idaho where he was named Outstanding Accounting Graduate. He started his career in public accounting with the firm of Touche Ross and later moved to Quincy Wash. were he ran his own accounting and tax practice. Bob was a good businessman and later when he moved to Boise was involved in many different business ventures including land development in and around Boise, McCall, Cascade and Fairfield. He loved to travel with his wife of many years, Jennie. They went on several cruises, guided tours and trips in their motor home. Bob had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories. He was also known to belt out some rather unique camping songs that few people beyond his family had ever heard or would probably care to hear. Bob was an avid BSU fan and held season football and basketball tickets for many years. He was at the Fiesta Bowl with his three sons to see BSU win...he just had a better seat. He was the strong quiet presence in his families lives, always ready to give guidance and support when asked or to allow them to make their own mistakes and then help them fix them. Survivors include his three sons, Brad, Breck and Craig; his daughters-in-law, Cindy and Pat; his grandchildren, Kali, Kip, Amanda, Kyle and Kimberlee; his great-grandson Jackson, and his sisters Carol and Sandy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred, and his brother Gene. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5th at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Ministries to the Aged: P.O. Box 45237, Boise, Idaho 83711.

To Bob's Family
I lived next door to Bob at Owyhee Terrace and became very fond of him. I missed seeing his obit or I would have been to his funeral. I am so sorry that I did not keep up with his comings and goings. I will keep all of you in my prayers for Bob.

I'm so sorry that I missed Bob's service on Friday. I want all of you to know that Bob was an inspiration to me and was the main reason that I became a CPA. I worked at Hidden Paradise for Bob while I was in high school (1983), he was always laughing and so much fun to be around. In the scheme of things, I probably did not spend a large amount of time with him, but he was sure instrumental in my life and career, which I consider to be very successful. I'm sure he will be dearly missed but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Breck, and to the family of Robert Duncan, my condolences go out to you at this difficult time. There is a time for all seasons. There is a time for passing and a time for remembering those who have passed. Robert seems to have had a full and wonderful life. I am sure he also took great pride in those he has left behind.
