Robert Rader Obituary

Robert (Bob) Rader Robert (Bob) Rader, 76, Lenore, Idaho, formerly of McCall, passed into the hands of our Heavenly Father on Sept. 24, 2007 in Lewiston, Idaho, surrounded by his loving family. Bob and his wife had resided in the Boise Valley and McCall for 42 years. They recently relocated to the Clearwater Valley to pursue Bob's lifetime dream of being a rancher. He dedicated the last four years to making that dream come true and had just finished the place of his most pride and joy, the red and white barn. While in the McCall area, Bob was an avid golfer and also taught each of his children and grandchildren the love of golf, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. His greatest legacy, however, is his teaching of dignity, integrity and generosity. Bob was employed by Western Steel Manufacturing in the Boise Valley for over 50 years and had many friends among his colleagues. He always felt fortunate to have had a career with so many opportunities to make friends and work for such dedicated and honest employers as the Roy Norquist family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pat, and his seven children, Terry Rader, Victor, Montana, Judy Brown, McCall, Idaho, Jody Birk, Moscow, Idaho, Patti Pfost, McCall, Idaho, Richard Rader, Troy, Idaho, Brad Rader, Lenore, Idaho, and Angie Moon (YRG), Lenore, Idaho, 13 beloved grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend and "pardner," J.D. Miles. A celebration of his life will be held at the Guardian Angel facility, 2421 Vineyard Avenue, Lewiston, Idaho on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Vassar Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. There will be a gathering and dinner after the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to your favorite charity in Bob's name. Dad, you are and always will be our hero. Bob, you are and always will be my cornerstone and love of my life - you will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Pat and Family,

Rena and I send our condolences. Bob was a friend to all. From time to time I (Rena) always think about Bob and the Rader family; especially all the help and loyalty you all gave me in the early 80's with a struggling architectural firm. (by the way, still struggling - nothing new) Time goes so fast - seems like yesterday that I hit my first drive off your roof at Eagle Hills. Yes drive, not second shot. Many more were to come but if Bob was home, I could always get a beer because I always told him it was my drive. Bob, thanks for all the memories; Pat, Patti, Angie, and Family - Always.

What little time i knew Bob was like a blessing. The company I worked for had just purchased Western Steel. Bob helped me with estimates on jobs. We were very successful working together. It was always a joy talking to him on the phone and meeting him in person. I'm sure Bob is enjoying his time in heaven doing all the things he likes. Best wishes to all the family.
