January 2, 1952 - April 24, 2025

Boise, Idaho - Roger Wayne Button, 73, of Boise, died Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Roger was born on January 2, 1952 in Lewiston, Idaho to Max Button and Mary Ellen (Purcell) Button.

Roger attended Whittier Grade School in Boise, excelling in playing marbles. He attended Hillside Jr. High and graduated from Capital High School. He attended Boise State University and University of Idaho.

Roger Married Barbara A. Snapp on March 8, 1987 in Winnemucca, NV. Roger served in the US Army and is a Vietnam combat veteran. He was employed with Marsing Job Corp and the State of Idaho Vocation Rehabilitation.

He loved spending time with loved ones and going on trips with family and friends. Hobbies included fishing, beer, boating and traveling. Roger dedicated his life to helping the less fortunate with ADL counseling and working with public offenders.

Roger was preceded in death by his father Max Otis Button, his mother Mary Button; brothers, Ralph, Sherm, and Glenn Button; and his uncles Harry and Lewis Button.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Button; daughter, Rebecca M Button; granddaughter, Kaylee Button; grandson, Roger Max Button; son Justin R. Lempin and his wife Melissa.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr's Reisling, Schultheiss, Babbs, Ru, Vloka for their excellent care of him.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing 1 hour prior to the service at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave. Interment with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise.
