Ronald Schug Obituary

RONALD LYLE SCHUG
1950 ~ 2013
Ron Schug passed away at home in Boise on January 4, 2013 at the age of 62. The youngest child of Lyle and Margaret Schug, Ron was born on December 13, 1950 in Billings, Montana. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather.
Moving with his family from Montana to eastern Oregon, and finally to Washington, Ron spent his youth in Seattle, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1969. A "car" guy from a young age, Ron became a master technician following his service in Vietnam. In Seattle he met his future wife and best friend, Marilyn, while working at a repair shop, thereafter making sure that her car was always in top running condition. Ron truly enjoyed coaching his children's youth baseball, soccer, and basketball teams for many years. Ron's family moved to Boise in 1991. There he enjoyed summer softball leagues, hiking, canoeing, river rafting, gardening, and golf. Interested in all aspects of auto repair and service, Ron's automotive career broadened to several leadership positions in new car dealerships and collision repair.
Ron leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Marilyn; daughter Jessica (Victor) Quiroz of Seattle, WA; son Nick (Melissa) Schug of Boise; sister Madeline (Allan) Olson of Manzanita, OR; brother Ken (Merlita) Schug of Renton, WA; positively delightful granddaughters Aspen, Naomi, Brienne and Tilly; and nephews Taylor Olson, Erick Schug and Damian Schug.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Legacy Hospice for their caring and expertise through Ron's final months. They also especially wish to thank the employees of Kadel's (ICR) Auto Body in Boise, including corporate management based in Portland, OR for their tremendous support and kindness throughout Ron's battle with cancer.
Ron seemed to have an uncanny ability to be the first to see the beauty of nature before anyone else in the crowd noticed, and he took great joy in sharing his awe with others. So when you spot that eagle soaring WAY up there, perhaps you will think of Ron.
A memorial will be delayed until the family meets on a warm, sunny ocean beach in the summer to celebrate Ron's life. Memorial contributions in Ron's name can be made to the Idaho Food Bank at www.idahofoodbank.org or St. Luke's Children's Hospital at www.stlukesonline.org. The movies and Shakespeare won't be the same without running into you two. I know how hard it is to lose your best friend and husband. I will walk this path with you, my friend, and our guys will be smiling.
