Ryan DeVisser Obituary

Ryan DeVisser
1982 ~ 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we honor the life and love of Ryan DeVisser who joined our loved ones in heaven on September 18th, 2017. Ryan was born on November 11th, 1982 to David and Marcy DeVisser. He grew up in Idaho with his sisters, Arica and Kristen. Ryan was father to four amazing children Kiya, Layce, Shian, Johnny Rose, and best friend and life long companion to the love of his life Fina. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and rock hounding with his friends and family. He worked hard, often times running circles around the people who worked for him. He would move mountains for a stranger or anyone he knew and often did. He will forever be missed and lives on through the great love he freely gave to so many. Please take comfort in Ryan's own words of optimism, gratitude, and love:
"Some of you might not know it but as part of loving the great outdoors here in Idaho I am also an avid rock-hound in my free time. My love for being out in nature and exploring the mysteries it has to offer has led me into some of the most wild and remote parts of our beautiful state and the peace I gain there is something that helps fuel my work time with great results. My little hobby has given me years of stories to tell and tons and tons of shiny, beautiful rocks and gems for my collection; it's something I am very thankful for. The idea of appreciating our natural places, and feelings of thankfulness in general lead me to a fun habit that I recently started sharing with friends: A Gratitude Rock.
It started with just carrying around a piece of smoky quartz that I found in my adventures in my pocket for luck. I found myself looking at this rock when making change or emptying my pockets at the end of the day; couldn't help but think about the camping trip when I found it, the friends I was with, and all the things I had in my life to be thankful for. It's such a small thing, but it turned out to be something I could carry with me everywhere and look to whenever things seemed a bit dim that made a big difference. So the next time I was out and found a pretty stone I gave it to my friend and told him the story of the gratitude rock; how it's a little piece of happiness to carry with you to act as a reminder every time you take it out or feel it in your pocket that you always have something to be thankful for. Take this as a message of hope and encouragement, life can seem overwhelming at times but a greater man than me once said: "The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
Ryan, who now holds Shian in his arms, is survived by his three children, the love of his life, his mother, father, two sisters, aunts, uncle, cousins, and many friends.
There will be a visitation on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W. Bannock Street, Boise, ID. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 10:00 am also at Summers Funeral Home in Boise. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.summersfuneral.com.
