Susan Creed Obituary

Susan Rose Creed-Cunningham
Susan Rose Creed-Cunningham went to be with her heavenly family on Jan 2, 2017, after a battle w/pancreatic cancer. She was born on Jan 30, 1941 at Boise to Helen and Deane Thompson. She was outspoken with a wicked sense of humor. Mom would eventually meet the love of her life Dana Boone Cunningham and spent many happy years with him. She lived her life for her Grandchildren and was proud of them. Mom's strength and sense of humor will live on in them as she gave them all she had. She loved yard sales, games shows, and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Deane, Norman, Kerry, Fred, Jimmy, and Raymond Thompson, sisters Patsy Boutwell and Mary Swank, her grandaughter Heidi Feild, and her husbands. She is survived by her daughters Leslie (Al) Bush, Heidi (Tony) Soto, sister Dorothy Hanau, brothers T.S. Bud (Elverta), Danny, and David (Jo) Thompson, her grandchildren David (Thao) Feild, Harmony and Grace Soto, her great grandsons Nico and Timothy Feild, and many nieces and nephews. Mom, we love you more than words could ever express and will miss you every single day. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 8th, at 3pm, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise.

For those of you who were lucky enough to know my "one-of-a-kind" beloved Aunt Susie, let's just say, you always knew exactly where you stood with her.

Not only was she a beautiful person, inside and out, but she was also wonderfully kindhearted and had the most infectious laugh that made you want to join in the fun. She was smart, witty, forgiving and loving.

She gave everything that she had, her wisdom, time, money and last bit of energy to her wonderful family and grand-children, who I know also miss her terribly.

I have many happy memories of growing up with her as my Aunt. She helped plan my birthday parties with my Mom, she babysat us when we were kids, she went on camping and fishing trips with us, she was a safe place to be when things got crazy and she loved us unconditionally. She also gave me my first job as a maid at The Boisean Hotel, which was a thankless job, but it allowed me to earn spending money, gain some work experience and spend time with her. I remember her trying to make cleaning fun, while keeping me accountable. She was known for giving it to you straight if you were slacking but then keeping us laughing at breaks and lunches with funny stories to share from her experiences with guests and interaction with upper management.

She called me "Moni" most of the time and always made a point to make sure I was thought of when she talked to her sister, my Mom, Dorothy Hanau, over the phone. She would say, "Make sure you tell Moni I said hi and that I love her!" That meant the world to me. Our phone conversations were always fun. She would ask me about my kids, my job and how things were going in general. She was full of energy when she would talk about her grand-children and how proud she was of them. She shared things about the weather, politics, her health, how things were with her daughters, funny memories of the good old days and always made you feel special. She was an amazing Aunt, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grand-Mother, Great-Grand Mother, Friend, Sister, Daughter and Wife.

I will always cherish our last days together and will never forget how she smiled through the pain she endured during her battle with pancreatic cancer. She even let me cut her hair nice and short to make that one little piece of her life just a little bit easier. I think of her every day and miss everything about her, especially her laugh and encouraging attitude. I miss her so much!

We even had an interesting interaction with an employee at Ross Dress for Less in December 2016 that I won't ever forget. That memory still makes me laugh out loud and smile with fondness. She really knew how to speak her mind. Then she would just laugh about it.

I often find myself talking to her in the car on my drive home from work or when she pops into my mind, and I say hello to her. I know she's looking out for me and helping me to make the best decisions in life possible.

Cheers to you up in heaven Aunt Susie!!! I'm so happy you are now with the love of your life, Boone Cunningham, your beloved parents Dean and Helen Thompson and your brothers and sisters. All I can say is I am so thankful for her as my Aunt and I wish I would have had more time with her before she left us. I know I will see you again one day my sweet Aunt.

From the deepest part of my heart, I love you.

Love Your Niece, "Moni"

One of the sweetest, most giving women I ever knew....and I had the privilege of calling her my aunt. She will be missed early.

Aunt Susie was always so welcoming to our family. I will always be thankful to her and Aunt Dorothy for throwing me Madison's baby shower. She was the perfect hostess!
