DAV in memoriam: William "Bill" James Brewer, November 15, 1970 - April 29, 2019
I was absolutely blindsided when I found out my friend, Brewer passed after battling cancer. He was a former colleague of mine from working at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) in 2006-2008. We also ran with some of the same people or at some of the same places. Finding out he was no longer on Earth was such a surprise... memory takes me back to questions he asked me about a Foreman of ours. Oh, how we laughed! How he cared about and for my vehicle, letting me know unsolicited advice on maintenance that was unusually accurate. The best memory I have is being asked if I wanted to have a ride on his Harley. With so many years since being on one, the trust it takes to want to be on a ride, and most of all a friend you have not seen regularly for a while, all I could say was, "yes". It was night, and a warm wind kind of evening, and the experience was wonderful! Not too long, never dangerous, and a lasting memory or feeling I will treasure for life! I wanted to finally post my tribute to Brewer (is how I referred and knew him best by) because I found I do not get as choked us as the beginning of finding out his fate. Today I wonder if he was suffering when we had that memorable ride. Today is the day we celebrate our Veterans... I celebrated my father (who I am the only child of 3 to become a military and civil servant). I donated to DAV in Memoriam of Wm (Bill) J Brewer because he created funny, as well as special memories from working together until the year of his passing.
Let your spirit always soar, my friend. I will forever remember your energy and spirt because you are still around for some or all you knew. With deepest sincerity, Shalayna (Shay) Lyn (oh, and he loved my boy, Buster (Lil´B) too!) and Lil´B Marcotte

When I think of you, I see you and your dad at the Simplot office in Federal Way, laughing... You are one of the good ones. You will be missed. Much love to the Brewer family

My buddy Mike D wrote this for a friend dying of cancer. Mike D, fellow Army veteran met my cousin William at one of Mike's shows in Boise a few years back. This song is helping me through this. See you soon. It's all gone too soon!
