William Cady Obituary

William Doyle Cady Jr

January 3, 1950 - September 19, 2024

Meridian, Idaho - It is with heavy hearts that we announce that William Doyle Cady Jr., 74, of Meridian, passed away on September 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to William and Beatrice Cady on January 3, 1950 in Wendell, Idaho.

He had an immense passion for sports throughout his school years and excelled at track, basketball and above all, football, receiving numerous awards. In the fall of 1966, he was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. In his senior year he was voted as Mr. Friendly by his graduating class at the Luck Dog assembly. He graduated from Borah High School in May of 1969.

Upon graduation, Bill's service in the Navy began in June of 1969. He proudly served in the Navy until May of 1971. The following year he married Sharon Warner. Bill and Sharon had children Todd, Tony and Tara. They later divorced.

In January of 1982, Bill married the love of his life, Vicki Roberts. Vicki had daughters Nicole and Andrea from a previous marriage. Together Bill and Vicki blended their families. Bill's work life brought about many moves for the family in the early years, but they settled in Boise, Idaho to be closer to family in 1987.

Bill was an avid fisherman and passionate golfer. He found great pleasure in the outdoors, and cherished time spent on the water and the golf course. His love of football and support for the BSU Broncos gave him much joy, including trips for away games with Vicki and their close friends. He loved to garden and was an excellent cook, taking pleasure in creating feasts for his family and friends. Breakfasts were best with Papa. He was known for his quick wit, generous boisterous spirit and the warmth he brought to those around him.

Bill's greatest treasure was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Vicki; his sons, Todd (Kirsti) and Tony (Sarah); his daughters, Nicole (Daniel), Andrea (Warren), and Tara (Mike); thirteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren all who admired and adored him beyond measure. Siblings Dale (Penny), Carolyn (Milton), Steve (Connie), and Richard. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Beatrice Cady.

My deepest condolences to the Cady family. Bill played a big role in my life in junior high and high school. He and Vicki welcomed me into the family and I spent so much time over at their house at a time when I needed it the most.
