Dear Robbie,
How's Jesus? I can't imagine how amazing it is in Heaven. I was thinking about you with this being your first Christmas in Heaven so I started reading everything your friends and family wrote about you. No doubt my friend you were an incredible example of how Jesus told us to live our lives but there a few things in all they said that they missed.

It was my honor and blessing to have worked with you twice in my career at Albertsons. The first time when we opened the first Glenwood store you were the produce manager and I was the grocery manager. And then the second time when you were the produce manager at the new Gary Lane store and I was the Store Director. During that time I got to know you as someone you could always count on; your were incredibly dependable. You demanded excellence but you had a instructive way about achieving that. I remember your omnipresent smile but I also remember that firey spirit. You were the most determined competitor I've ever known. You lived by the motto that it wasn't the size of the man in the fight - it was the size of the fight in the man that mattered - and you lived by that. Even something as peacful as tossing coins in the backroom (remember) was like life or death competition. But when the battles were over you were an example of how He would win or lose. I'm sorry we lost touch over the years but it was great that God allowed us to reconnect at the gym before He called you home. His grace and love for us is so amazing.

When I first heard God took you Home I was shocked because it seemed like I had just talked with you at the gym. I remember how excited you were about the coming of your new grandchild and hoping we could all get together to catch up. Then you were gone....

I remember your funeral and how packed the house was. And I know you didn't want it to happen but there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I'm sure why we were all there crying in our grief you were still praying that God would lighten our sadness with happier hearts. Please know that our family has been praying for comfort and strength for Kathy and your family as have thousands of others. Also please know that I'm looking forward to catching up when I see you in Heaven.

Thank you for being my friend Rob and for setting the great example of how He wanted us to live our lives.

POPS!! I was truly blessed to have such an amazing man as my father, role model and friend. I told my dad everything and always asked for advice, he was my best friend. He always had that way to make me laugh or smile. I looked forward to each and every time I would see or talk to him. I miss him dearly more than anyone knows, but I am confindent he's in a better place and we will be reunited once again. If I become half the man my dad was that would be worth mentioning. I do know that I will have him for every step of the way and he's laid the perfect groundwork of how to be a man. I love you Pops and Thank you!!!

My dad will be greatly missed. He was the most amazing man I have ever met, I hope one day to marry someone that is just like my dad. He was the greatest inspiration in my life and will always be apart of me. He always was so positive and always had a smile on his face. He made me want to be happy and live life to its fullest. There was no question that whenever I was having a bad day my dad always would know how to make my day better. I am so lucky to have had such an amazing dad that has made me into the person that I am today. He was a family man and would have done anything for us. I can't wait for that day that I will get to see him again in heaven and that day that we will be a complete family again. Everyday will be one day closer. I will always be daddy's little girl. Love you dad!!!

To all the Sproats and their extended family. We all know what a great guy Rob was. His passing has made me take a quick inventory of my life. I'll never forget him telling me that he was a bit older than Kathy and that it was alright by him if I wanted to date his son Curt. He always made me smile. When he came into the Roadhouse, Bonnie and I would actually fight over who got to leave the bar to visit him and Kathy at their table. :)

Rob
I loved you very much for many reasons. First of all, when you entered a room it was like a burst of sunshine, and you always had a lively spirit which rubbed off on all of us. I also loved you for the way you treated my daughter and grandchildren and when I was not available you acted as a sounding board, decision maker, and most of all, supportive friend, to my two boys. I loved you very much and will truly miss you.

I am Travis Leigh and have known Mr. Rob for eight years. My mom runs the coffee bar I would hang out at Albertsons until she would take me to school. He has taught me alot about produce in that time. I found out several years ago that he likes to prank people. When I was in first grade he fed me a habenero pepper. It burned my mouth so bad that I had to go to school with a couple cups of ice. I've loved spicy food since then. He was a great friend and I will miss him very much.

We will certainly miss Rob and will think of him each time we go to Albertson's at Five Mile & Ustick. He always had a smile and asked about our children as he eagerly awaited for an opening to share about his own. He was so very proud of his family! I loved it when he pulled his wallet out to show you all off! May your many wonderful memories bring comfort to you today. As a friend reminded me... Just as we wave goodbye to Rob and say, "There he goes"...on the other side they are saying, "Look!, Here he comes!!"
