Winona Stout Obituary

Winona Millard Stout
1920-2014
Winona Beth Bell Millard Stout, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at a local care center. She joins her husband Bill Stout who preceded her in death on April 16, 2014.
Winona was born on December 7, 1920, in Buhl, Idaho, to James E. Bell and Mary E. Smith Bell. They welcomed three children to this union, Winona, Louise and Vernon. Winona attended schools in Buhl, Gooding, Hagerman and King Hill. She graduated in 1938 from Jerome High School.
Winona married Allan H. Millard on September 17, 1940, to which five children were born, Sandy York (Warner) of Jerome, Steve (Peggy) Millard of Eagle, Stan (Trish) Millard of Glendale, AZ, and Scott Millard of Boise. Daughter Susan preceded her in death on July 16, 1998. Winona and Allan divorced and Winona married Bill Stout on October 3, 1965. She welcomed Bill's children, William M. (Bertha) Stout of Boise and Carolyn M. Austin of Boise into her heart and family.
Bill and Winona spent their retirement years living in Terrace Lakes in Garden Valley, ID, enjoying nature and time on the golf course. During the cold winters they would head south to Borrego Springs, CA, and later Yuma, AZ. Winona loved the sun, heat and the beauty of the desert where they were always going on excursions. They later made their home at Willowbrook Estates in Boise where they were closer to family and friends.
Winona was an avid bird watcher and could identify numerous species of birds. She had a never-ending love of cats and always had cats and kittens in her home. While she favored Siamese cats early on, her favorite cat was "Baby," a grey tabby, (of which there were several). Baby was priceless to her.
As her extended family continued to grow due to marriages, divorces, more marriages and child bearing, Winona once marveled that the family tree had turned into a bush and she loved everyone in it.
Winona is survived by her children and their spouses, her sister Louise and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery. Grandma Winona was such an amazing woman. I will always cherish the time that I had to spend with her whether on Warm Springs, up at Terrace Lakes, down in Borrego Springs or here in Boise. She had a beautiful, kind and loving spirit that you could feel when around her.
I will miss you Grandma No No. I know Grandpa Bill is happy to be back with you!
