Dorothy Bechtel Obituary
Age 83 of North Canton, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1928 in Canton to the late Charles and Mildred (Ditty) Garaux. Dorothy was a life resident of the Canton and Minerva area and was a 1945 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. She was a secretary through a temporary service having worked at many companies throughout Stark County. She attended the Canton Baptist Temple and was formerly a member of Grace Brethren Church in Minerva where she served in many capacities within the church. Former member of Robertsville Grange and Farm Bureau, member of the Lunch Bunch and served as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Robert Bechtel.
She is survived by her husband, Glen E. Bechtel to whom she was married 64 years; five children and their spouses, Donald and Donna Bechtel, Sally and William Hoy, Fred and Candy Bechtel, Peggy and Joseph Toth, Howard Bechtel; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Betty Garaux, David and Kathy Garaux.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. John Dilling officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery, Louisville. Friends may call Tuesday 5-7 p.m. Condolences or fond memories may be shared online at

Our hearts are heavy this morning as we learned of Dorothy's death. She was such a wonderful lady and inspired so many during her life. She will be missed here by many but heaven has welcomed a beautiful saint. Our love and sympathy to your family.
