John Abbott Obituary
age 73, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday Feb. 8, 2018. He was born Aug. 16, 1944 in West Bethlehem, Pa, a son of the late John and Janet (Hines) Abbott, and had been a resident of the Sandy Valley area since 1968.
He was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson Morgan High School in Jefferson, Pa. John retired in 2006 from PCC Airfoils in Minerva, where he was a vacuum furnace operator. He loved the outdoors, going for walks and looking for arrowheads. He enjoyed reading about history and working in his garden. But, his primary love was for his kids and especially his grandkids, watching them in sports. He was a big Ohio State fan.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters, Donald Abbott, Emma Davis, and Violet Abbott. He is survived by his wife, Linda A. Abbott, with whom he would have celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary on June 17th; three daughters, two sons, and 10 grandchildren, Joanna (Chris), Connor and Isabella Corbit, Janelle (Seth), Victoria, Allison and Elijah Eyster, Janessa (Jeremy), Tiffany and Ashton Lee, John (Andrea), Logan and Jameson Abbott, James (Mona), and Roma Abbott; two sisters and one brother, Martha Fleming, Linda Sebald, and Charles Abbott.
Services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Dale Boston officiating. Friends may call Monday 2-4 p.m. before the service. Military Honors will be held at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
