Paul Haren Obituary

'Together Forever'
Paul J. Haren
age 88 of Louisville, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Feb. 17, 2013 at his home. Paul was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Canton, the son of the late Otto and Nellie (Miller) Haren. He will be remembered as a loving and generous father, grandfather and husband. Paul was a very hard working and dedicated man. He retired from Crystal Park Lumber where he was employed as the building manager. Paul was an excellent carpenter and could build anything. He even built a boat! He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Louisville Lions Club and St. Louis Catholic Church. Paul was soft spoken, kind and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He loved sports and especially enjoyed poker nights with his family. He loved Lake Erie and the times he spent there with his family. Paul will be terribly missed by his children.
Paul is survived by five children, Lorraine Palmer, Mary Lou (Bill) Goddard, Andy (Cindy) Haren, Annette (Joe) Rutkowski and Bryan (Kim) Haren; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Patty) Palmer, Ryan (Jackie) Goddard, Adam Goddard, Erika Haren, Alexandra Rutkowski, Kristina Rutkowski, Michael Rutkowski and Jillian Rutkowski; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Palmer and Evan Goddard; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by a son, Douglas Haren; his wife of 62 years, Helen Haren; brothers, Harry, Bernard, Bob, Don, George and Tom Haren; and sisters, Rita Schoeppner and Lillian Begue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Paul's family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Louis Catholic Church.
