Robert Nichols Obituary

Robert O. Nichols
age 80, of Malvern, died Sat., April 12, 2014 in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 25, 1933 in Barlow, Ohio to Homer and Gladys (Breckinridge) Nichols. He retired from Kopp Clay Co. in Malvern where he was a truck driver for 34 years. Following retirement he drove for the Carrollton Sale Barn and for Kiko Meats in Minerva. He is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Robert is a member of the Barlow Presbyterian Church, the Minerva VFW Post #4120, Malvern American Legion Post #375, Eagles Aerie #2185 in Carrollton and was a 17 year member of the Brown Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Esther (Legget) Nichols whom he married Dec. 16, 1978; daughter, Debbie (Dan) Clear of Malvern; son, Jess Nichols of Uniontown; several stepchildren; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie Breckinridge who raised him; three brothers, Dewey Breckinridge, Homer Jr. and James Nichols.
A Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in Liberty Cemetery with Mr. Mark Black officiating. Those unable to attend may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
