Valerie A. Goebel

1964 - 2017

53, of Canton passed away on Nov.
3, 2017. Valerie was born in Canton,
Ohio on March 8, 1964. She was
graduate of Perry High School class of
1983 and attended Stark State College
for Culinary Arts. Valerie was employed
by Aultman Hospital as a
housekeeper for 13 years and was a
private home health aide. Val was a
devoted wife, mother, grandma and
friend. She was an excellent cook and
loved to feed the family large healthy
meals. She went all-out with decorations to make things festive for the
kids. Val loved to laugh. Her laugh was so fun you couldn't help but
start laughing too. She was a strong woman, fiercely protective of
those she loved. She worked tirelessly and looked forward to spending
time with the grandkids. She was a fighter, never letting adversity
break her spirit. In her last years learning to live with diabetes, she
boosted her spirits with crafting gifts for anyone she encountered.
Valerie will be missed by those who loved her but we pray her spirit
will inspire us all to laugh and love more, care for the kids and never
give up.
Preceded in death by her father, Melvin Zinn and brother, Monte
Zinn. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, John Goebel;
children, Arianna Zinn, Nick Goebel, Jennifer (Brian) Johnson and Sonia
Bingham; grandsons, Joshy, Lucas, Thomas and Oscar; mother,
Shirley Zinn; sisters, Laura, Pam and Christina and brother, Michael.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at
Reed Funeral Home CANTON CHAPEL. Family and friends may visit
from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. The family invites
