William McAllister Obituary
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on October 30, 1928, Bill was the beloved husband of Carol D. McAllister, father of Jill Burcham, Peggy McAllister and Alec McAllister, grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of four.
Bill was retired CEO and President of DAR Industrial Products, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pa, and founder/retired CEO of Darco Southern, Inc. in Independence.
Throughout his life, Bill supported the growth of organizations and people in his local communities. He served for many years as Chairman of the Board of Twin County Regional Healthcare, and as Board Director for Wytheville Community College in Wytheville. He was Past President and Board Director of Fluid Sealing Association.
In the last 12 years of his life, Bill delighted in serving as a docent/volunteer for the Ribault Club, a historic site on Ft George Island, Fl.
Bill proudly completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Ohio University in his mid-60's, forty years after he had left his studies to serve in the military, support his father in running the family business, and raise his family.
You will be missed beloved father, grandfather and friend.
Flowers are welcome, as are donations to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C. Local funeral services were held at Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home in Galax on Tuesday, August 8.

Met him only once and was greatful to meet him. His daughter Jill Burcham is the most wonderful Lady I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She has detecated her life to her family,friends, & The Lord she so proudly serves.
Mr. McAllister sure done a great job with his life.

One of my best friends since he first came here. He possessed a brilliant mind and dynamic personality. I had the pleasure of serving on the Hospital Board with him for many years. Our Saturday morning breakfast gang met at my home times for an old time breakfast. He was loved and admired by all. He will be sorely missed. God Bless. Doug Turner
