Billie Ruth Dean

Anderson, SC

Billie Ruth Jarrett Dean went rejoicing out of this world into her Heavenly home on February 28, 2016.

Born July 8, 1937 to Roy and Victoria Jarrett of Anderson, she graduated from Girl's High and was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. She retired from Wamsutta Mill and worked as a Walmart greeter after retirement. Billie loved the Lord, family, Braves Baseball, the Gamecocks, reading, auctions, painted fingernails, and a good pocketbook. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Billie leaves behind her sons, Roger Dean and Steve (Linda) Dean, of Anderson and James Dean, of Walhalla; grandson, who she raised as her own, Michael (Shawna) Dean; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Jacob Dean, of Anderson, SC; brothers, Olin (Ruth) Jarrett, Donnie (Evelyn) Jarrett; and sister, Nancy (Pete) Rumsey, of Anderson.

Billie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, sons, Carroll Dean (infant son), and David Dean; sister, Betty Thompson; and best friend, Peggy Lee.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Brent Lollis officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted.

I only met Billie once - at WalMart - but Nancy shared memories and concerns about Billie's health with me, so I feel as though I knew her well. Thanking God for His mercy on taking her Home peacefully. Praying for all of her family.
