Bobby Burdette Obituary
Iva, SC
Bobby Burdette, 65, of Iva, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.
He was the spouse to Linda Johnson Burdette. He was also the past president of Anderson Home Builders Association, retired after 23 years with the Army Reserve with the rank of Master Sergeant, a Past Master Mason with the Hermon Lodge #116, Scout Master of Troop 206, and he served 51 years with the Iva and Starr Fire Department of Anderson County.
In addition to his spouse, he is survived by his sons: Justin and Joseph (Beth) Burdette, and sister: Pat Carnes.
He was predeceased by his parents.
A funeral will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2pm at Iva City Fire Department with Pastor Mike Wiles and Pastor Tony Smith officiating, where he will receive Fire and Military Honors. Burial at Iva City Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Iva City Fire Department from 5pm - 8pm. Bobby will be placed at the Iva City Fire Department at 12pm on Sunday prior to the service.
The family will be at the home.

BOBBY WAS MY BRO. AND MY FRIEND. HE PAID TO ALLOW MY SON TO GO TO CAMP OLD INDIAN WHEN HE CROSSED OVER THE LOG FROM CUBS TO THE BOY SCOUTS.THE NEXT YEAR WE WERE PREPARED FOR THE ANNUAL TRIP TO THE CAMP AND WERE ALSO ABLE TO DO THE SAME FOR ANOTHER BOY THAT BOBBY DID FOR OUR SON.BOBBY NEVER HESITATED TO EXTEND HIS HAND TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDED IT. HE LIVED AND PREACHED HIS OWN FUNERAL.WHAT WE WOULD GIVE TO HAVE THAT SAID ABOUT US WHEN IT COMES OUR TIME!! I MISS YOU BOBBY. KEN WILDIN PM #233 AFM.
