Carolyn Gilliland Obituary
Anderson, SC
Carolyn Campbell Gilliland, 92, wife of Jack D. Gilliland, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Gray Court, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Raymond and Eunice Owens Campbell. Carolyn was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church, the Women of the Church, the Anderson County Woman's Club, Bud and Bloom Garden Club and the Anderson Country Club Women's Golf Association.
In addition to her husband of 69 years, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George M. "Becky" Rodgers and Mrs. Thomas G. "Jane" MacLennan, of Anderson; one sister, Mrs. E.L. "Betty" Faircloth of Laurens; five grandsons, Matthew Madden and wife, Kate, Patrick Madden, Tom MacLennan and wife, Cameron, Perry MacLennan and wife, Jenna, and Jack MacLennan; and one great-granddaughter, Eliza Madden.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at Old Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by Dr. David J. Bailey. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. The family is at the home of Becky and George Rodgers.
Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 1404 North Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
