ABBEVILLE, SC - Doris Clara Ebert, 77, of Iva, wife of Peter Ebert, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at the An-Med Heath Center in Anderson. She was born in Cullman, AL to the late Sam and Susie Smith Walker.
Mrs. Ebert retired from the Chiquola Textile Mill in Honea Path after many years of dedicated service. She was a long time member of First Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ebert was first married to the late John Carl Leigaber and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving Mrs. Ebert is her husband of the home; three sons, Kenneth T. Leigaber and his wife Chong of Corpus Cove, TX, Wayne C. Leigaber and his wife Patricia of Greenwood and Daniel R. Leigaber of Iva; a daughter, Sheila S. Luker and her husband Roy of Greenwood; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00PM on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the First Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Leigaber, 629 Hwy 221 S., Greenwood, SC.
