ANDERSON, S.C.
Dr. Gary Lee Wickiser, 75, passed away at his home May 11, 2015 after a seven year battle with declining health.
Dr. Wickiser was born September 4, 1939 in Flora, Illinois to Lusco I. Wickiser and Leah Belle Wickiser.
Gary was proud to have served his country in the Army before graduating from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa with a doctorate of Chiropractic in 1969. He practiced in Algonac, Michigan before moving to Anderson, South Carolina where he practiced for 36 years. He loved his practice and his service to thousands of patients. Dr. Wickiser was very active on the state level of the Chiropractic association. He served as a technique instructor through Life University where he taught many of his colleagues.
Gary lived by the motto, "To Give, To Love, To Serve". He personified that in all aspects of his life. He was dedicated in his giving to the community. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, where he served on numerous committees with the Blue Ridge Council. He was very proud that all the three of his boys achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Gary was an avid knife and toy train collector as well as the chapter director of the Anderson Gold Wing Riders. He was passionate about motorcycling and rode all 48 states in the continental United States on his numerous Harleys and Gold Wings. The boys have great memories of bike rides with their Dad.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Florence (Flossie) Hart Wickiser; three sons and six grandchildren, Kurt Wickiser and wife, Tandy, Clay Wickiser and wife ,Sunni, grandchildren Zoe, Lily and Virginia, Clifton Wickiser and wife ,Kelly, grandchildren Nicole, Joel and Layla; his sister Shirley Smith and husband, Bill. He is also survived by Danny Zugg, who lived with The Wickisers for years and is like a family member and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wickiser of Flora and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Montgomery of Flora. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Zach.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend James Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn.

So sorry to hear the passing of your love one. I remember when Dr. Wickiser was at Richard Campbell nursing home where my dad was. Remember even tho sick was a nice person, got to meet his wife, Flossie. Don't forget good people, Remember the aprons she told me about that really help to keep my dad's food off of him. Know you are in my prayers to each of the family, lean on Jesus and he will see you through. I know your pain, I lost my dad 2 years ago, the pain don't go away, but you have memories that you can cherish for a life time.. It does get better, but takes time
