John Higginbotham Obituary

John K. Higginbotham.

Anderson, SC

John Keith Higginbotham, Sr., 92, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Elberton, Ga., he was the son of the late Joe B. and Hattie Gaines Higginbotham. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Higginbotham was a graduate of Rutgers University and was a retired banker. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Sara C. Higginbotham; and one son, Keith Higginbotham of Columbia. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 17, at Forest Lawn Mausoleum Chapel conducted by Dr. James R. Thomason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 307 South Manning Street, Anderson, SC 29624; YMCA, 201 East Reed Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
