Karolyn Owens Obituary
GREENWOOD-Karolyn Knox Keaton Owens, 85, wife of Rev. George Clay Owens of 1147 Wright School Road, Belton, SC died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Lena Brown Keaton. She attended Lander College and Western Carolina Teachers College and went on to teach Kindergarten and Elementary School. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: sons, Clay Owens and wife, Karen of Charleston and John W. Owens of Florida; grandchildren, Jacob F. Owens, Katherine E. Owens and Corinna F. Owens.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall E. Keaton, Sr. and a sister, Annie Laurie Keaton Boucher.
Services will be conducted at 3:00pm Monday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Ellen Younker and Rev. J. Taylor Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45pm until 2:45pm at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
