Patsy Thrift Obituary

Patsy Thrift
Seneca
Patsy June Collins Thrift, 79, wife of Thomas "Tom" Edison Thrift, 115 Sunnyview Drive, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her home.
A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late William Jess and Pearl Suttles Collins. Mrs. Thrift was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Westminster Baptist Church and of the Agnes Morgan Sunday School Class, the Red Hats Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Lazy Daisy Garden Club.
A loving wife of 57 years, a dedicated loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. Her acts of love were performed daily with a quiet strength that was characteristic of her personality and spiritual gifts of generosity, hospitality and administration. She now resides in heaven with her loving heavenly Father. We give praise for her life and example. Her testimony was lived out loud by simple acts done routinely on her life's journey. Proverbs 31:31," Give her reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
Survivors in addition to her husband, Tom, include two daughters, Marcia Thrift Hydrick (Tim) of Seneca and their children, Tucker and Lauren Hydrick, and Sherry Thrift Bradshaw (Bill) of Columbia and their children, Brewer, Thomas and Collins Bradshaw; brother, Kenneth Collins of Westminster; a sister, Evelyn Grogan of Westminster and her late husband Bob Grogan; and two nephews, Steve and Tony Grogan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Collins.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Westminster Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Westminster Baptist Church.
The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Collins Home Children's Ministries, P.O. Box 745, Seneca, SC 29679, or Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to Back 9 Ministries, 1675 Tanglewood Rd, Columbia, SC 29204.
