Shelby Simmons Obituary
ANDERSON, S.C.
Shelby Jean Simmons, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Albert Saylors and the late Alice Adams Saylors. She retired from Anderson School District 5 as a bookkeeper at McDuffie High School. She was an avid quilter and flower gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Simmons; a son, Jeff Simmons ; a daughter, Darlene Simmons; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Simmons; brothers, Albert Junior Saylors and Edward Saylors; three sisters, Clara Lark, Betty Flowers, and Christine Kinley; a grand-daughter, Amber Simmons; and one great great-granddaughter, Graelyn Elizabeth Simmons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Lee Saylors and Ronald Earl Saylors.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Kiki Tant officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
