Walter McKee Obituary

Walter McKee
SENECA - Walter Newton McKee, 76, husband of Barbara Jean Carroll McKee, of 392 McClure Road, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at his residence.
A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Walter Watson and Floride Schley Stone McKee. He was retired from Beacon Manufacturing where he worked as a weaver/winder for 31 years. Mr. McKee was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Return Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: son, Michael McKee and wife Cindy of Westminster; daughters, Kathey McKee Denney of Seneca, Stacy Smith of Asheville, and Melanie Miller and husband Kent of Westminster; stepson, Terry Gassaway and wife Heather also of Westminster; brothers, James McKee and wife Nadine of Belmont, NC, and David McKee of Texas; sister, Elizabeth McKee of Seneca; and 12 grandchildren, Logan and Amy McKee, Austin Hunter, Felicia and Justin Carter, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Matthew Smith, Erika Kelly, Trey Miller, Jessica Whitfield, and Brittany Poore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vera and Margaret McKee, Mary Allison Grant, Grace Harber, and Martha Folds.
Graveside Services will be held 3 PM, Friday, October 28, 2011 at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Sandifer Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted, or memorials in his memory may be made to Return Baptist Church 733 Return Church Road Seneca, SC 29678. The family is at the home of his sister, Elizabeth McKee, 423 Return Church Road, Seneca, SC 29678. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com
