Matthew Woodard Obituary

KANNAPOLIS - Matthew Dewitt "Matt" Woodard, 46, of 7165 Dogwood Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, with the Rev. Willie Rash officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receice friend from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mr. Woodard was born March 10, 1960, in Mooresville, Iredell, County, the son of John Howard Woodard Dr. and Doris Hilburn Woodard. He worked part time at Weaver & McGuire Amusement Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed archery and had won several awards over the years. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his daughter, Patricia Ann Kiser of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Leah; brothers, Harold Ford of Kannapolis, John H. Woodard Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and David B. Woodard of Kannapolis; sisters, Jean Goodman and Jenny Bradshaw, both of Kannapolis; and grandmother, Alice Hilburn of Concord. The family headquarters will be at the home of his parents, 7155 Dogwood Lane, Kannapolis. Memorials may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, c/o Family Promise Homeless Ministry, 415 Walter St., Kannapolis, NC 28083. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
