Peter Hoadley Obituary
September 28, 1940 - May 7, 2022
Peter William Hoadley, 81, of Concord, lost his life on the evening of Saturday, May 7, 2022, after being involved in a tragic accident.
Peter was born in Norfolk, England in 1940, to the late Jack and Mary Hoadley, and graduated from Harper Adams Agricultural College, prior to becoming a poultry geneticist. He met his wife, Jennifer, in Wem, and they married in 1965. In 1978, Peter, Jenny, and their two sons immigrated to America to establish Concord Duck Farm through an opportunity with his role as Senior Vice-President of Cherry Valley Farms, Ltd. Peter, an entrepreneur at heart, then went on to become a self-employed business owner. Peter served as Owner/Operator of County Cleaners, serving the needs of Cabarrus and surrounding counties for almost 40 years.
Peter was a much loved, well-respected member of the community throughout his time here. He was a longstanding member of the Rotary Club and served on the 4H Board. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed golf, racquetball, sailing, tennis, reading, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Peter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jenny; sons, Mark and Jonathan; daughter-in-law, Karen; sisters, Ann and Jennifer; grandchildren, Lauren and Austin Hoadley; stepgrandchildren, Lauren, Joe, and Maddie Schepler; and numerous extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held in Peter's honor at a later date.
