Leslie Hoadley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Day Funeral Home - Keyport on Jan. 27, 2026.
Leslie Shannon Hoadley, 54, of Union Beach, NJ passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, January 25th, at home.

He was born in Montclair, NJ on August 18, 1971 to Leslie and Marilyn Hoadley. Shannon moved to Union Beach at a young age and made life long friends. He attended Holy Family School and was a proud graduate of Mater Dei High School.

From high school Shannon began his career in law enforcement which spanned 25 years, retiring at the rank of Sergeant from Essex County Corrections. Upon retirement Shannon began a second career in school security starting at Mater Dei Prep and ending at Saint John Vianney.

As much as Shannon loved his career in law enforcement his true passion was coaching youth athletics. Over his 36 year coaching career he led numerous teams to state championship victories between football and softball, making a difference in countless lives.

Shannon married the love of his life Kimberly on October 21, 2000. During their 26 year marriage they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Isabelle Marilyn and Mackenzie Margaret. Shannon is also survived by his devoted sister Merritt Hoadley, soon to be brother-in-law Ronald Kutcher, and treasured goddaughter and niece Carolynn, as well as his mother-in-law Barbara Allen, and numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, January 29th at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey.

A Christian Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 30th at Holy Family RC Church in Union Beach, NJ.
