Ronald Yorke Obituary

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Ronald E. Yorke, 58, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in Fort Wayne, Ind. There will be a memorial service at noon, Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Trier Ridge Community Church, Fort Wayne, Ind. Mr. Yorke was born June 16, 1949, in Cabarrus County, the son of Myra Yorke of Kannapolis and the late Charles Yorke. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and attended East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He had been employed by the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Ind. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, LuAnne Yorke of Fort Wayne, Ind.; son, Jared A. Yorke and daughter, Amanda M.Yorke of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and sister, Debbie Y. Mortuiccio of Kannapolis. Memorials may be made to Trier Ridge Community Church, 7501 Hessen Castle Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46816. Ron was my cousin and my friend.We talked by email weekly and I will miss those talks.We talked about sports and politics mostly - Ron was a devoted fan of our high school's football team - the Wonders.Ron loved his mother Myra and was very proud of his Dad's WWII service from D-Day to the end of the war.
