Helen Mazurkiwicz Obituary
Born Nov. 23, 1922, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Yankowski) Bogusinski. Her husband Frank Mazurkiwicz predeceased her in 1982.
She retired as a Seamstress from the former Irene Sportswear Inc. of Nicholson.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Hop Bottom.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and flowers in her back yard. Additionally she was a committeeperson and active in the Democratic Party for many years.
Survivors include daughters: Frances Peckins of Kingsley, Leona Bennett of Kingsley, Betty Randall of Conklin, N.Y., and Elaine Tompkins of Hop Bottom; son, Frank 'Bub' E. Mazurkiwicz Jr. of Kingsley; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Bogusinski of Kingsley; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter, Jo Ann Donahue; a sister, Mary Pedrosa; and brothers: Steve, Stan and Joseph predeceased her.
Services were Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 613 Baltimore Drive, Suite 3, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702, or American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517.
