Peter selflessly gave his own free time to me on Friday nights while I attended high school. He taught me programming and was patient, considerate, fun, funny, and brilliant. He helped light the fire in me that raised me up from being a C/D/F student to a straight-A student from mid high school through obtaining a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree. I just finished writing some networking code that defaults to using ports 14441 and 14442 in honor of Peter's favorite port numbers to use.

I still think of you, pal. I won't ever forget you.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Peter's passing. We shared the same office for a year while Peter was at APL. He was always pleasant and we had several good conversations about technical and general maters.
He will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to his family.

I will miss Pete's intelligence, sense of humor, shyness, integrity, and commitment to excellence. My heartfelt condolences to his family and his other friends.

I was blessed to work closely with Pete at APL when he wrote the calibration pipeline software for the CRISM instrument of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. After final delivery, Pete's extremely complex software, which is still in use, processed terabytes of images of Mars with cast-iron reliability and almost no maintenance. This is a direct reflection of Pete's integrity and persistence when he wrote the software.
