East Point, GA: Mr. Alvin Lindsay, 68, As Alvin's earthly journey came to an end on early Thursday morning, February 1, 2018, he embarked upon his path into eternity. Born to God fearing parents, Robert Daniel and Naomi Culbreath Lindsay, the 7th of ten children in Chappells, South Carolina in Saluda County, Alvin learned the importance of giving and sharing with others. As a youngster, Alvin's family moved to Greenwood, SC where he attended East End Elementary and the segregated Greenwood High School where he was one of the 1st African Americans to graduate. It was during this time that he competed and excelled in track and field.

Alvin attended Howard University and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lehman College, City University of New York (CUNY) with a B.S. Degree in Political Science. He furthered his education at Antioch School of Law, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memory and legacy: his wife, Margarita Cruz of East Point, GA, his son Nathaniel Cruz-Lindsay of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Charles Lindsay (Philadelphia, PA), Douglas and Richard Lindsay (Greenwood, SC); two sisters, Naomi Jackson (New York, NY) and Beulah Lindsay (Atlanta, GA); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be 12 Noon Friday, 2/9/18 at Branch Hill UM Church Cemetery, Branch Hill Road, Chappells, SC 29037, conducted by Reverend Dr. Ernest Etheredge and others.

Viewing will be Thursday at the funeral home 12-7 p.m
